Overview

While I was looking at Half Persian 3-in-1 variants last week, I found the historic Three Quarters Persian on M.A.I.L.. You can make this member of the Persian weave family from two different base weaves. You can add rings to Half Persian 3-in-1 or remove some from Full Persian 6-in-1. When making the weave, I followed this tutorial by Aussie Maille, which used the additive approach.

Materials

For the sample piece showcased in this post, I made the rings myself. I used 16 SWG Bright Aluminum wire from The Ring Lord coiled around a 9mm mandrel (for an approximate ID of 9mm) for an AR of 5.5.

Notes

The weave is a bit more complicated than the base weaves, but it is still fairly straightforward. The beginning can be tricky if you start with Half Persian 3-in-1 as I did; thankfully, after that, it becomes quite easy. The weave can look very nice when arranged correctly and given some stability, but it is fairly unstable by default. As a unique chain weave with a concave side and a deep recess, it is ideal for capturing larger items such as cabochons, as briefly shown in the tutorial. Overall, I recommend learning this weave, as it is simple once started and having a reliable weave for capturing items is always useful.
