Overview

While looking for new weaves to try, I found Kyy submitted to M.A.I.L. by Loke. This European weave is a variant of Orbital Vipera Berus, where the larger rings cross each other like the small rings. If you want to make this weave yourself, I recommend this tutorial by Aussie Maille.

Materials

For the sample piece showcased in this post, I used two sizes of rings made from 16 SWG Bright Aluminum wire. The smaller rings have an ID of .25in for an AR of 4, purchased from The Ring Lord. The larger rings, which I made myself, have an ID of 10mm for an AR of 6.15.

Notes

The Kyy weave is not too hard to understand and is fairly straightforward to create. I find the weave to have moderate aesthetic appeal. As a chain weave with a flat and wide cross-section, it is well-suited for making bracelets, chokers, or straps. Given its ease of learning and making, along with its moderate visual appeal and variety of potential uses, I recommend learning how to make this weave.
